Game Night: Behind the Scenes with Band Boosters

Updated: Oct 17, 2023

The Music Boosters Board arrive with students at call time, 5:30 pm. We use this time to organize the donated food, water and Gatorade. We then load the snacks in a van to drive it to the field. We also fill up water jugs with ice from the athletic trainers room.

On a typical night, when there are not calls for rainstorms, we also have our Music Booster Table out to sell merchandise. We typically ask for volunteers to help work our merchandise table and help with setting up on the sidelines. We did not this game because of the unpredictable weather, but here is the SIGN UP for FRIDAY'S game. Senior Night!

Once we got to the sidelines, we used this time to dry off the stands the band would sit on. The Music Boosters also are in charge of setting up the platforms the drum majors stand on to direct the band during their performance. This is a little tricky because they are stored underneath the home bleachers and not the easiest to haul and set up!

We also help with uniform issues and grabbing any forgotten equipment back in the band room. We surely get our steps in!

Once the band is done performing, they move to the sidelines and watch the HSHS Danceline and Cheerleaders perform. WATCH OUT because as soon as those performances are done, the band rushes to grab a drink and snack.

It got chilly and the Music Boosters also handed out handwarmers! Let's hope for a dry warm night on Friday, October 20th. Thank you for your continued support of our organization which directly helps the music programs of Hinsdale South High School.
